This is going to be interesting..:)

I'm buying a 20" iMac off of a friend. Its the last gen but it has the dual core intel, maxed out on all specs, comes with CS3 and some other fun software I can really use for photography work. I already have a nice dell laptop but I've been wanting a mac for a while. Its also running the latest OS as well.

oh man its going to be sweet

You'll have a lot of fun :) Learn how to use Spaces and Expose - they'll really help with navigation. People coming from the PC world marvel how fast OS X navigation can be.

yeah? I'm ditching the idea of buying a 70-200m f2.8 to get the mac and buy a 430EX II along with the mac.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I agree as well. Using Mac OS X feels wonderful with photography workflow.

Agreed on the spaces and expose suggestion. Spaces to kind of have "multiple desktops" at the same time (i have it set for six) and expose to, for instance, have a look at multiple files at the same time that are all open in Photoshop.
