This is a restack and reprocess of a shot from last winter. 56 min. of 5 min. subs w/6 darks. 8" newt, 350D.

A VERY QUICK play with levels in Photoshop gets you a bit closer. Use Colour balance with the Hostogram open with all colours showing and try to get the colour peaks in the same sort of area. Zeta Orionis does tend to blow out images of this area especially with a DSLR which dont have quite the anti-blooming control of a dedicated CCD.

Working from your first image. Not a good starting point, difficult to get the colours right, would prefer to start from an unedited image.

If you don't like it I will remove it.

Here's a version as it came from DSS. Somehow, DSS was well-behaved that night and gave me most of what I shot for a change. :D Thx for the effort John. :cool:
