Powershot A580 (or A590?)

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on the Powershot A580.

I was buying a Selphy printer anyway and there's a bundle with the camera in which means it's a chance to pick one up very cheaply (my current compact is starting to die).

My other option would be to buy the printer separately and go for something like an A590IS when the current one does die.

Is there much difference between the two? Apart from the IS?

Very much. The A580 lacks any direct control over shutter speed or aperture, offering only the "Camera M" of the low-end PowerShots.
