Obviously this is no replacement for a calibration device but in the new windows (Windows 7) it comes with a tool to calibrate your monitor by eye.

It's a re-do of a much older tool in previous versions of Media Center with a few tweaks. It's surprising MS didn't do it a long time ago.

Remember what you're testing in the RC is the Ultimate version, colour calibration may or may not be in the version you buy. I've not seen anything to confirm it one way or another which versions will have this feature and I don't fancy hacking install files to test ;)

However for the beginner and skint photographer it's a nice option, but not great. Think of it as Adobe Gamma and you won't go far wrong.
