This is a photo I took of my girlfriend some months ago, and I think it turned out well. Love to know what you all think as well

Your girlfriend looks beautiful.

I like the composition but find the blown out water in the bottom 25% of the frame rather distracting.

The ballet shoes add interest which works well, I think.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it works overall for interest, but agree with George re the bottom being blown out. Lighting conditions were probably too extreme to get a great shot of her there, but a reflector and/or gentle flash fill would have helped to stop her shadowed side looking dull and somewhat flat. I particularly like that the shoes are facing different ways - not only increases interest, but makes it more more casual. The hair has the opposite effect, having obviously been deliberately arranged to avoid falling over her face, but it's unobtrusive. The bra straps another little detail to consider. It may also have added interest to have included a bit more space on the right, as she's looking that way....

Cheers, Tony

Nice photo :)

Well exposed but I think the contrast is a little on the high side, I would have used a stronger fill flash, and have it underexpose a bit so that the water wont be fully blown out. This should also retain more "hair" instead of a blown out patch of hair that looked like they were sticking together.

Another thing is, if it is a "planned/crafted" photo, the pose can be improved by leaving a gap between her left arm and her body. NOT leaving a gap between the body and limbs tend to exaggerate the total width of the body, leaving a gap in between remove this effect and make people look as slander as they should.

I think this is a nice shot, and the blown out water doesn't bother me.
