I finally picked up a tripod today and made some use of it. I don't have much for lighting, so I used the natural light, my 430 II bounced off the ceiling and a door, and also a small floor lamp from slightly behind on the other side.
I shoot mostly landscape / travel photography, so I'm pretty happy for my first attempt. I'd like to know what techniques people have for focusing their camera (I was placing an object about where I was sitting, focusing, activating the timer, then trying to sit in the same spot). I'd appreciate any feedback as that's the only way I can improve and I'm sure there's tons of room for that.
This is with my 70-200 F4 IS at 89mm, F4, 1/6, ISO 50. For post processing I applied some vignetting and black and white conversion obviously.
