The color of the Kenko depends upon vintage of the convertor. The year before I bought my Pro 300 DG years ago, they were white; when I bought mine, they were black. Same model, same optics, different cosmetics. I verified with Kenko about color not related to optical design. Since I have a Canon in white and a Kenko in black, I can match the lens that I wish to use it with!
The Kenko also has the advantage of not having optics that stick out in front of the mount, so it fits my 100mm (which the Canon 1.4x would not).
