I dropped my 40D and 70-200 f/4L IS which fractured the barrel near the camera mount. 2 weeks and $250 later, I had it back in my hands.

When I got it back, I went down to the local park area during sunset, and there was a whole family of lorikeets and cockatoos flying around. It was hard to take photos of them, as they are so erratic, and they tend to stay fairly high in the trees, but I reckon I got a couple of keepers. The clouds were slightly red from the sunset, but the colours have been pumped in PP.

Av mode, 200mm, f/4.5, 1/160, iso100, handheld. C&C welcomed and encouraged :D

Well, not much to look at but a silhouette. :)

It's interesting... don't see many bird silhouettes. I don't suppose you live near Coolangatta? I've just moved up here and there's lorikeets bloody everywhere :p

That was kinda the look I was going for in this shot. Tell me if I'm being delusional, but I'm really happy with the way it came out.

Nah, I'm in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. I think all the birds shifted because of the epic bushfires we had. I've noticed a lot more bird activity since February

Whatever trips your trigger, but from my experience, most people in the birdie forum come here to see the birdie, not a silhouette of one, and the bigger, closer, brighter and more in focus, the better. ;)

You were wondering why it got no replies in 3 weeks. That's what I meant. :)

I agree with Mitch on the color, feathers and such. That said, I also appreciate a nice photo in general and a nice silohette is pleasing to look at for me. I must have just missed this when it began.
