This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera. As an option, a high resolution file may be made available for editing as LINK ONLY, and your final submission to the contest may not exceed 1024 pixels on the long side.

The game will last 72hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #185".

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!
This round will end Wed May 13th 11:00am EST

Yeah -- I don't know who changed the size rule but here are the "original rules"

This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the break down of the game. I will post a picture, that I like, resized to exactly 800 pixels maximum on the longside. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to the levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and who ever can produce the best edited image will be picked and it'll be there turn to post there unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at it.

The participants must have there "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide a simple breakdown of how they edited the image so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

I added that "option" of supplying a higher res version on contest 180 (the leopard), thus I changed the verbiage.

Sorry if that upset the rowboat :p

LOL -- I don't think you upset any row boats... I simply post the largest possible image that has a decent jpeg quality in this case 1024 on the long side gave a quality of 52.. not very useful I think where as 800 on the long gave a quality of 81 - much better.

LOL! Oh my gosh... my comment wasn't about the contest photo size... it was about my entry photo size... it looked great at its original 1800xsomething or the other that I was working on then I had to resize it to 1024 and the quality kinda went kaput... that's where the sad face came from ;)

lol... rowboat...

Didn't do a whole lot to this because I was afraid I would go over board and ruin the image lol.

- Played around with the Saturation and Contrast with just about everything in the image so not 100% sure exactly what I did lol
- Cloned out the people in the front to look like fog.
- Added the girls in the background (found a photo of a statue online because I couldn't actually find one from the cartoon)
- Word bubble
- Added a Color Stylizer filter to give it a more story tale look.

Nice go at it Lore, Tracey & Brennasg!

I'm going to give this one to Tracey
- it made me laugh plus it's a nice crisp and clean edit and what can I say I'm always a sucker for the girls ;-)a

Lore - great job on the cloning and matching it up with the open book -- looks very real to me!

Brennasg - cool texture & polaroid work.

Ok Tracey - over to you!

Oh wow I didn't think after Lores edit I would have won. I loved the books btw Lore.

So I was wondering if I was right, if it was Gaston from the Beauty & The Beast play?
