I found a listing for a sigma 50-500 but it says it comes with a sigma 35mm, is the sigma mount the same as a canon 40d?

I can't find much info on the net, I can't even find a sigma mount 50-500.

the price is $100 with the camera, could this be a Sigma AF 50-500 /4-6.3 APO EX DG HSM or did sigma make old versions that were not sought after?

It's still probably a scam or, at best stolen. This would be a 90%+ discount on the lens.

Also, the sigma mount is not the same as the EF mount so even if it were a legit lens it wouldn't work on your 40D.

Sigma make their own SLR cameras with their own mount. It is not canon compatible.

And I agree, $100 is a scam.

Or the person is uneducated

It could be an estate sale or something..or some grandma cleaning out a closet...

You mock, but i did pickup a Nikon 35-70 f/2.8 for $70 because the seller was an idiot ;)

Complete in box mind you, with the hood

If it were me and it is local, go and check it out, if it is Sigma mount, at $100 get it anyways and resell on ebay, you'll definately make a profit to go towards a Canon-mount 50-500

Or the person might not even know, I've seen EOS cameras bundled with FD lenses for instance because they were in the box together

SIgma mount actually is compatible if you happen to want to swap the mount and do some DIY work. But out of the box it isn't.
