Print it billboard size and stick in on the outside of his house ![]() Excellent idea....hmmm. Picturesports wrote in post #7897812 I've just finished a 60 meg version of another image for him that is 1.8 meters wide at 300 DPI ! - I think he is going to wall paper the living room with it And cover my road car with it. Mark Vuleta wrote in post #7897859 What? 1.8 meters!! Why twice actual size? Cliff(e) will get a big head! Too late! Picturesports wrote in post #7897877 Landscape image similar to #7 - should look impressive or just scary I intend to use it to woo any women who enter my house (perhaps I should clean it up a bit first too) jejeje wrote in post #7897896 Nice ones! Did you sit on the hood for the last two? How did Cliff get his nickname Klippe? From some germans or scandinavians? It comes from someone typing the word "cliff" into a german translator on the net sometime in 1995. It has stuck with me as my internet "handle" since then. The impossible has begun - another step closer - and I am very hungry for it.

I use a large gorrilla pod and a lot of duct (speed) tape to secure the camera to the car.....Set the timer release and pull the car forward. The car only needs to be doing walking pace.... Truly excellent series, and thanks so much for adding the info' about the last two shots. That is so applicable to so many types of shooting where "wheels" are involved. I use a large gorrilla pod and a lot of duct (speed) tape to secure the camera to the car. Wide angle lens - 11-18mm and a bunch of filters to drag the light level down to give a 2 second or greater exposure time. Set the timer release and pull the car forward. The car only needs to be doing walking pace - I pulled Cliff down the pit lane - the engine makes way to much vibration to be useful. You can get fancy and use wireless remotes but it is just another thing to fall off the car ![]() No8 is 2.5 seconds at F14 ISO50 The things that mess the images about ... The long exposures result in high F stops (F14 is quite low normally F22+) so if there is any dust on the sensor it will show up Try to expose the image "to the left" (under expose) so that the highlights stay in range - you can not always pull it back in lightroom. I use a 4 stop and a 2 or 4 stop grad together. Vibration - Most race cars are stiff as a board and so if the tarmac is anything other than smooth you get vibration in the shot. The drivers often don't understand "Don't move" Shadows - People standing watching casting long shadows Framing - No7 is easier than No8 to find the right location - N07 is coming out of the garage and so is on an arc. Wind on the steering lock - push the car out to make sure it doesn't hit anything - don't move the steering - push it back to the original spot and you are ready to go. No8 needs even balance on either side - the garages on the left are balanced by the wire fence on the right - I did a similar shot earlier this year that only had garages on the left - looked a bit odd. The shot can be taken with the car moving forwards or backwards - same result I think that's about it .... Shout if I have missed something Cheers Dave thanks for the help, i will have to find a gorillapod in the next few days (got plenty of gaffa tape) My Best Imageswww.echo63.deviantart.com
