Morning folks.

I was wondering how many of you always have a camera with you whenever you go out?

The reason I am asking, is that there have been quite a few times now where I wished I had a camera with me to take a photo, but the camera was at home.

I am really considering hauling the S3 with me where ever I go now, and would like to see what others do.

Thanks...
Al

I carry mine, I am working on a photo a day project this year and don't want to miss any possible shot. I tried carrying my wife's g10 a time or two but I find I really miss my 40d when I don't have it. The g10 is great but having the DSLR just opens up a lot more options. I guess I am spoiled by the control, especially over DOF, that I have with the DSLR compared to the G10.

I always have my backup body with my 100-400 lens and a normal lens in a small bag in my car and I also keep a small point and shoot in the center console.

I'm obsessed with the thought that I might miss a shot, so I take my gear with me everywhere, even if it's the 2 minute drive to McDonald's. I think I have issues.

Do you have a conceal camera permit?

Not everywhere I go, but I do keep a P&S (and it's the P&S before my P&S that was before my 450D :p) in the shoulder bag I take to & from work.

Does a camera phone count as a point and shoot, my HTC Touch Pro has a 3.2MP camera lol.

Well, in Florida, you can carry a camera in your glove compartment or center console as long as it's "not readily accessible."

Yes a camera phone counts if you ever use it. I almost always have my iPhone with me. It's a fairly amazing camera in some respects in that it will almost alway be able to take a shot. I've taken night photos with it, took photos of a helicopter with it (what it does to the blades is weird and interesting), used a photo for a Christmas card (that some thought was done by a pro), and just take photos when I might not otherwise have a larger camera with me. Here are two examples:

Yep, I have my setup with me most of the time. I feel like I'm forgetting something if I don't have it with me.

Living in the middle of Tokyo with no car means whatever you take you carry... very different to having it in the back of the car. Even the G9 and leather case can get annoying after a long day.

I use my mobile phone for those odd occasions when I am not allowed to take my main slr camera with me, but get plenty of opportunities with my slr camera

Since I now have 2 DSLRs I'm trying to bring my XTi w/18-55IS and sometimes a flash and the 85mm (since I've hardly used it ) with me when I go out. The stuff is insured so I am not too worried about something happening to it.
