Hello everyone,

This is my first post to the forums, I'm new to the word of photogahpy and I don't really know all of the technical settings.

Please give me some feedback

Pictures include the following

Farris wheel (day/dusk/night)
Fireworks
Several gulls in flight
Ocean Clouds
--
I would have included them directly in the message but I wasn't sure how.

Some nice photos here, for sure. I particularly think the following to have good composition to make for visually exciting images:

farriswheel-day. - by taking a different angle (away from the horizon) there is movement and excitement in this image. I feel a little "off kilter" looking at it, as if I was on, or just got off, the ride myself.

fireworks3. - of all the fireworks images this is the one with the biggest bang! It really explodes from the lower right, all over the frame! great.

gull3. - of all the gull images, this is the most artistic, with the pattern of the wings of the two birds mirroring each other. Unfortuately, a little lower cloud and the lower bird would be free in the blue sky background, but we can't have it all. Perhaps a tighter crop to focus more on the birds?

One critical comment: Carousel - this is just not close enough, and the impact of the carousel is lost completely. I posted a comparable image recently on a thread in galleries (look for new images on web site by gandini, or something similar) Unfortunately my server is down at present, so I cant' post it here directly. Anyway, this photo, despite being taken at night, is tighter and more intimate. I'd always suggest getting closer, as you did with the ferriswheel photo I liked so much.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us!

cheers

bigstar:

Thanks for posting your pictures on this forum. I agree with Gandini's comments, especially the get closer idea.

You can imbed the photo's within the message by putting [then img then bracket again, enter address of your picture then bracket with a /then img. This is shown in the HELP at the top of the page. The reason that I didn't write it here is that, it puts a error. Just check the help, its easy.

Hey thanks for the comments!

I totally agree with you about the Carousel, I had some closer ones but they didn't turn out.

The county fair only comes around once a year, My goal for next year is to do much better. I'm finally starting to get the hang of it :)

I just ordered a 2x MegaPlus telephoto lens and I can't wait for it to get here.

Thanks for the hints on how to embed images. I'm going to go try it out.
