Ref Popham

It turns out 'they' have an AN2 there that did a run of passengers. It is staggering to be so close to this "big bird", the second image (oops clipped the wing & poor choice of Tv has made the prop invisible :( )shows her making a surprisingly low pass along one of the strips before making a wider second circuit before landing about 5 mins later.

Nice pics of a nice plane. Good to see if you can catch the flames from the exhaust at start-up or on tick-over when she is on the ground.

They didn't build them pretty but they sure built them rugged...! Nice shots BB.

Wish I could find footage of it but there was stunt special on TV where they shot a stuntman off a bridge using a bungee catapult and his target was a cargo net trailing behind an AN2. The plane flew along the bridge in a very, very slow sideslip. He missed the first two times (and just parachuted into the gorge) but he hit the net and was able to hang on on the third try!

I saw that same video and wondered "Why?" :-)

Was the show called "Stuntmasters?"

I'm drawing a blank (and threadjacking so I'll quit...)
