I don't know why you would want to change it, but yeah it is definately possible,

As others have said, cover it up with gaffers tape if you don't want them to see which model you have or whatever,

Hmm mabey he wants to put a 1DMKV sticker on there so he can brag to his mates?

~Josh ;)

Sharp knife should do it. While you're there. paint a red stripe on the front and stick a Nikon sticker on it. That should keep it safe from gangsters.

The 450D/XSi/Kiss thing is more than just a label. Your EXIF data will show which model it is too so you can never really pretend it's something that it isn't (unless you edit EXIF for every shot) :p.

Yeah crackheads would steal a Holga too. They don't care.
I just dont like having labels on things. So its not to brag, its a 5dmkII anyways. If anything its to tone it down.
I just wanted to know if it was easy but with out damaging the decal or camera.

Do you really think that anyone with the mentality of a thief knows the difference between a Rebel, a 40D or a 1D? If they're going to steal a camera, they're going to steal a camera and it really doesn't matter what kind...

+1

Maybe doesn't want people to know he has an XTi...LOL JK

You absolutely want to remove those goofy yellow, blue and red stickers that come on all consumer grade cameras. They are made to be removed! Nothing says Newby more than a camera with stickers describing all of the features on it! Those are put on the consumer cameras (video cams too) to sell the camera. You're supposed to take them off. No serious photographer would be caught dead with those things on their camera. Although, I might add, serious photographers don't buy consumer grade cameras! Pro cameras never come with stickers plastered all over them. So, yes! Pull off the sticker. They come off easily and leave very little residue if any.

lol, you realize this thread is from almost 5 years ago right? Either way tho, he was talking about the badge that says the camera model.

Most people want to make sure the parts stay stuck to the camera.

WOW! Old thread indeed. Back when the 450D and 40D were new technology! :)
