With a 70-200 f2.8 lens and a 1.4x converter, using a DOF table, would the DOF be based on f2.8 or f4 setting when shooting wide open.

Sure this question has been answered many times, but did not find it.

Thanks.

I recently bought the same set up. It will take some time to figure what is best under what circumstances. Reach or DOF. I don't notice any difference in IQ using the 1.4 converter.

My guess is that when using the 1.4, getting a little closer, DOF can still look decent at F4.

6D, 60D, Various L and non-L Lenses and more gear than I have time to use. ;)
