I am new here and I have been wanting to get feedback from experienced guys. This is my first time with my Canon XS with kit lens. The night shot was on a tripod, the other was handheld. I am just not that adept in seeing if my picture is over/under exposed, or if white balance is right... you know the technical stuff. your feedbacks would greatly be appreciated.

They look fine to me, though like you I am inexperienced with night photography, but do you have one of the first image where you didn't crop the top of the tower?

Look fine to me as well. WB looks good, and exposure seems ok. I'm not a professional, but I'd say you did a fine job for first time shots.

As stated above, the chop on the tower in the 1st one is nearly a deal breaker. And it needs to be straightened, which will cost you more of that towers top. :(
