Kirk is one of the best made products around.
RRS and Kirk likely tied for 1st place, Wimberly next, and the rest follow.

I had the Kirk Replacement Foot which for me was well worth the money since it has the AS Plate built in to it and it was much lighter than the factory one. As mentioned I would never question or worry about RRS or Kirk when it comes to quality. At the same time their names almost never go together with cheaper than anyone else so make sure it is a genuine Kirk before pulling the trigger.

Who has a link to the replacement lens cap (not a canon)? I remember a long time ago before I got my 500 I was reading a thread and they mentioned the lens cap in question but I don't remember the name of it.

Also remember reading that you could use a tupperware lid, but I haven't been able to find tuperware at walmart anymore.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

The Don Zeck cap is perfect but a tupperware lid is definitely cheaper.
