At a recent graduation I saw a ton of Rebel and Dxx users holding the camera like that. Where is this behavior learned? It almost seems ingrained, do we want the same hand position for both hands?

Thats how we used to hold cameras back in the film days. Back then the left side of the body was the same width from the lens center as the right side (well almost, there was much more left body back then than there is now on modern bodies). To be fair, President Obama probably felt the camera was a bit heavy (not being his own) and didn't wanna drop it, so he was being respectful of the owner's property.

Great work.

Ok, so they found a modern way to get White House activities to the masses but let's face it, Flickr ain't exactly the National Archive. Seems a bit "cheap" to see Offical White House Photos on Flickr.

I understand that the Pentagon will be getting a Facebook account shortly and that we'll soon be able to petition the Supreme Court via Legalzoom.com

That's a very obtuse way to see it.
Who said that their flickr account is the exclusive official white house photo album? Being on flickr doesn't prevent you from being some place as well, including a dedicated website.

I find it smart. If the only thing you care about is pics, as an user, flickr is probably the best for browsing around.
