I am looking for a 50D. I found this offer and it is much cheaper than any competition I have seen. What is the catch? Anyone aware of this site?

Probably. Look at the accessories - the prices are through the roof, unusually an indicator to a bait and switch operation.

I noticed the battery and the charger have insane prices. Does this type of operation try to upgrade your products before the final sale?

I've never heard of them. Yes, many of those types of stores (I don't know about that one in particular) will try everything they can to get you to buy accessories that you don't need and want (these aren't high end accessories either) before they let you actually purchase the product. If you don't want to buy the extra stuff, they will often spend a very long time shipping it, saying it was out of stock.

In the end, if it's too good to be true...

No address. If they are out of Brooklyn, NY....RUN

These guys take a camera, advertise a great deal but then try to sell you everything separately that normally comes with the camera at GREATLY exaggerated prices. After you order they say you have to call to confirm your order. Once on the phone, you get the hard sell. If you don't go for it, they tell you what you ordered is on backorder...that's if they don't just hang up on you.

If it sounds too good to be true....

They don't exsist on ResellersRatings.com yet.

I'm guessing this is one of those bait and switch stores where you either don't get your camera because it's backordered or you end up being forced to buy the needed accessories that end up costing you more than the camera would at Ritz.

The battery and charger should come with the camera...

If you buy from a place like B&H or a brick and mortar store, you will get the camera, battery, charger, software discs, manuals, warranty card and all the necessary cables, all included...

If they are telling you all this stuff comes separately, then it is definitely a bait and switch operation.

You also forgot "Its an international version, we have to "upgrade" it to english" and or "The lens in the package has a plastic mount, let us upgrade it to the metal mount one"

Note I heard that second one applied to a guy trying to buy a L lens

I was about to post a thread about these guys asking if they were legitimate/reputable.
I just found them from an ad on these forums.
Thanks guys! I'll make sure to avoid them.

yep, same thing that is going on in this thread... https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=694917 But at least the OP link isn't dropping the price as bad, "almost" believable.
