Just ordered mine yesterday. Should be here Thursday. My first "real" camera.
I will be using it primarily for web product photography, but I will occasionally shoot outdoors.
Stumbled on to this forum while researching the purchase. What a great resource. Look forward to sharing my many mistakes. :)

Here is a little gopher snake that was outside my house... He was a very nice model. He let me pick him up and move him to a shooting spot. After I let him go and he happily slithered off in the grass.

Got T1I yesterday.

Initial impressions compared to 40d IQ. pixel beeping.

-Sharper pictures, more detail. But more noise, I think, but not sure. The difference is not very huge.

The pics are more sensitive to post processing I think.

So just first impression is that pictures are better straight from cam. But maybe 40d rawfiles can do more tweaking.

Think I'm selling the 40.

And unconventional testing today give T1i focus a slight edge. Used a 2x teleconverter to stress the system.

I use PS CS3 and CS4 Portable. I have the Element 7 and installed it once, but becuase i was so used to PS I never used it....maybe once. I never gave it a fair shot, but why change something that isnt broken ;)
