If your equipment is still under warranty any repairs should be free unless they find damage from neglect, water, etc.

Part of me wishes I had waited a few more days or weeks and gone with a T2i, but I'm proud to have a T1i. It will be just great for a year or so....then I will upgrade. I need one or two lenses. Here is a pic I took my first day with it last week. 7D - - 17-55 F/2.8 - 24-105 F/4L - 100mm F/2.8 - 50mm F/1.8 - S95 / To see all click here

It's not the best time to buy one perhaps, but since the T2i was out at the time, I got my T1i for a substantial discount. I will take the extra 200 and put it towards a lens. I cannot decide what to get. I like to shoot macro with my G9, but zoom id always a great thing to have. I will have to get some opinions on what to get. I like to shoot mostly abstract and landscape. Almost never people....so there must be lenses for those types of things. 7D - - 17-55 F/2.8 - 24-105 F/4L - 100mm F/2.8 - 50mm F/1.8 - S95 / To see all click here

I'm loving my T1i/500D. I'll probably look into a 7D after a year or so and pass the T1i to my GF or hang onto it as a second body.... Nice Pic! I am really happy with my T1i, I thought I would like to upgrade in a year or so, but with the results that this DSLR is giving me I think I will wait longer. My Flickr

I guess we'll both evaluate our situation in a year, but I need to get my skill level UP. The T1i is fine for an entry level DSLR. There is always something better. I saw waiting and paying about $200 more for the T2i as "splitting hairs" Best of luck to you. I love the pic. I love the deep blue. It's about the same blue as mine a few posts up. 7D - - 17-55 F/2.8 - 24-105 F/4L - 100mm F/2.8 - 50mm F/1.8 - S95 / To see all click here
