Amazing shot with the smoke, did you purposely try to make it a heart? Mind sharing how you controlled the smoke's shape?

anyone with an opteka battery grip out there? what color box did it come in. I ordered mine off amazon and am very pleased with it but something makes me think that i ordered a fake "opteka" grip. the box looked so unprofessional like something I would buy at a flea market.
I also found that the glue work done for the rubber gripping on the device is very poorly put together. I swear my sister could have made a product look more presentable, more the reason im thinking i got screwed??

Mine was also just delivered from Amazon. I got it from 47th Street. The feel of this one is better than the Canon. I think thats why Canon went with the "Plastic" instead of rubber(due to rubber peeling) and yes I have looked at the Canon grip in person and they are basically identical. I prefer the rubber feel of the Opteka and you can't go wrong with the price. If the rubber peels, that's nothing a bit of glue can't fix down the road. However I must say that there is no rubber peeling off at the moment on mine so you must have a bad copy.

Well i took about 300 shots. You can control the smoke a little bit my wafting and blowing it but as for actually making shapes its next to impossible so its more so just hope and keep firing off shots and hope you get something usable at the end

Its really amazing the different textures and patterns you can get from the smoke. The color on the heart is the actual color it got captured and for PP it was just mirrored and flipped and used curves to bring out the highlights a bit more

box looked like this but obviously with the grip pictures and serial numbers, with the regular logo

thats what i meant. mine has some edges exposed thats all. It appears that after all that is the box that mine came in so not worried. thank you for the reply

Nah, I wouldn't say cheaper but the "grippy parts" on the Canon grip felt more plasticky compared to the rubber on the Opteka but the rest of the grip was 100% the same material.

I just couldn't justify the price difference, so I went for the Opteka and Hey! I got 2 x Batteries with the Opteka which alone would cost around $30 bucks each. So all in all a great deal.

I like your Beatport pics by the way. That's one of my favorite download sites for my "Beats" that I mix on my RMX

Thanks. I keep getting pleasantly surprised from the used $49 Tamron 70-300 I got from keh.com. (Though the CA is terrible in high contrast shots)
