Congrats! It was my first L its sharp and the colors are great. you may miss the aperture of your 85mm though.

really Lantz... I don't use F/4 and wider... I use F/5.6 to F/11 for portraits all the time... with or without strobe... so F/1.8 is useless to me. This is for portraits, weddings, clubs... I only go wide when I take pictures of flowers and static subjects which I rarely do.

The T1i has been a great camera for me. Definitely a great body to learn on, but its my time to move to the 7D :D

congratz... if I was going to upgrade I would go 5D classic or the MK 2.

Very interesting turn. Those are two very different lenses. I’m very interesting about this lens on Tli, but it is getting kind of negative reviews for usage on cropped sensor body.
I would love to see some pictures from you taken with this lens.

I'm excited.. we will see. :)

I hope to have one of those some day, but the 7D is best bang for the buck for me right now. I shoot sports for my school paper, so the 19 point AF should help me out a bit.

Which one you get?

The funny part of this – few hours ago I ordered Cokin P series third party cheap CPL and ND filters with 67 mm ring and holder for my … 70-200.

I bought a Tammy 17-50 that comes with a B&W set of filters....one is UV other is CPL, both multi layer etc....really good ones. Win for me as the tammy and 70-200 share the same 67mm! Will post some pics tomorrow.

Congrats Staszek - the 7D is an amazing camera. I got one because I wanted the speed for some sports and it is more than a bargain.

Oh dont get me wrong I absolutely LOVE my 17-40 ;) It was the only thing I thought you might miss so if you never shoot lower than f4 you will be a happy camper!

I saw that you were in MN because of your photos a few pages back, which motivated me to post up some of mine (and finally get photobucket). A disappointing thing about UMN is that they don't let us bring our DSLR's into the stadium during football games. I am a senior Computer Science Engineering major up here (living on campus).

I am slowly going through my images to find more to post up, but here's another on my desktop (i'll have to dig out my external to get any others though).
