Canon T1i user right here!

It's nothing fancy, but a great entry level DSLR. I originally bought it for taking photo through my telescope, but I've since started to really get into photography.

That's how it starts then it expands and grows on you exponentially. Even though it is entry level it's a very capable camera, keep at it

I'm another T1i user! I've been doing photography for many years but just recently found this great forum.

Thanks for the welcome! I dabbled in photography throughout the years. When I got around to completing my college degree later in life (went back to school the week of my 36th birthday!) I found myself really drawn to photography. I loved being in the darkroom and watching images taking shape. With the digital tools we have now the process is much easier to manage, though it still takes skill to get superb results.

I like this shot. What was your setup on this (Lighting, lens, etc.)?

I have T1i for 12 months now. Battery started to show up its age.
I went with cheap after market grip with fancy LCD on it to get two extra batteries. All for 60 USD.
I have no problem to operate camera in vertical mode. It is convenient.
But I mostly shot horizontal and with grip it is not as good as without grip.
How I supposed to hold camera in horizontal with grip?

Spanspace, thanks, this was in my "studio" room at my house, which i assure you is not as good as it sounds... its an 8x8' room (no i'm not joking) with a white wall in which I can take head/shoulders, down to waist at lowest shots... anyway, model was essentially right on the wall, I had a Yongnuo YN460-II popping off into a cheetahstand Qbox24 camera right, and a Nikon SB800 popping off camera left through a white sheet to diffuse it a bit for fill, because the model was so close to the wall (so the lighting was as well) I was able to blow the wall out without a separate light on it (cause there is no space) and then using photoshop I essentially painted the wall to full white. (if you tilt your screen to a strong angle you can see a bit of yellowing between the hair strands where I wasn't able to get.

Kf095, just let your pinky rest on the grip and the muscle of your hand on the back side of the camera over the grip, just do what is comfortable with it

Attempted to get out and play with the new 10-24 today but 16 degrees and 20+ mph winds are too much for me and I like cold.....BRRRRRR !
Need a little time to get used to this thing but I think I like it.
