Went to winter forest with family. Small bug for doggy poo works well as protection cover from snow for camera and Tamron 28-75 lens.

I came across this old camera at a charity event in a small town and picked it up for $5. I couldn't resist! It still functions to the best of my knowledge. Anyways, this is my first post aside from my introductions so being that I am thick skinned, please provide your CC where you feel necessary. One thing that I ask is if you would do something differently, explain how. I am really looking to benchmark off the pro's techniques. I am new at this and would greatly appreciate any advice given. And of course, this was shot with my new T1i :D

Here is the Flickr set for it.

Great shot Daniel! I love the old Polaroid frame as well.

nice shot dan! is that the 55-250? that thing never ceases to amaze me on its image quality for the price.

Thanks guys! Luke, I really like the 55-250 but I don't think it can produce photos like this one. The hummingbird photo is super sharp and it focused exactly where I wanted, image quality is superb! The lens is Canon 100-400L and 55-250 can't compare with it :)
Thanks for your comments!

100% Crop, this is a tiny little bird and the focus is very precise!

This is practically straight out of the camera, very very little PP... you need like 200% crop to notice I did some sharpening :)

Attempted to get out and play with the new 10-24 today but 16 degrees and 20+ mph winds are too much for me and I like cold.....BRRRRRR !
Need a little time to get used to this thing but I think I like it.

Rick

Rick, I have that same lens. It's a bit strange to work with at first but once you get the hang of it, It's really a fun lens. You should go over to the "Flickr Tamron 10-24 group" to get some ideas for composition etc...

Super sharp shot by the way!

I've been having fun fooling around with my new nifty fifty!
Love the idea of shooting at night without a tripod and producing decent pictures!

Borrowed  If I had that money first I'd buy either 35L f/1.4 or 70-200L f/2.8
