thats pretty good or wide open lol. However I would still save up for the sigma version instead. Its meant to be pretty close to the 1.2L in quality.

I love my ultrawide as well. I dont use it as much as I used to but in certain situations its amazing. I would prob suggest you get one before a new 50. The 50 is replacing something while the 10-22 gives you something new.

Also maybe try some of the other ultrawides? The canon isnt the best one. Its about the same as the sigma one i have. I think the tokina is the sharpest and if you ahve the cash the newish sigma 8-16 (i think it is) is very impressive.

Yeah I know what you mean. I never felt wide angle fits my style but lately I like the photos I've taken with my friend's 10-22 and it is something completely different, while the 50mm is always a 50mm and the nifty fifty is doing a decent job. Sigh... there are many options and no cash lol...

Btw i just bought Raynox DCR-250, hope it arrives soon. Anyone here tried it?? I've seen some amazing macros taken with the kit lens or the 50mm.

yeah i have one. I used to use it with my panasonic fz28. Since i sold that a year ago i havnt really used it. Its ok with the 50mm but i used to use it to shoot insects at about 400mm (superzoom P&S)

I used to get results like this

You cant get near as close as this with just a 50mm but you can still get some nice macro stuff with it. The glass itself in the lens is pretty decent
