Wow that's pretty cool, great photos with the Raynox! I have a Powershot S5 IS maybe I will use it with it as it's 12x zoom. Nice nice... :)

thats a good idea, You might need an adaptor of course (i needed one on the panasonic). When i tired it with my 50 1.8 you can still get some nice semi macro things with it but its not as amazing as on a long zoom P&S.

The Magic Lantern firmware is in "Coming soon" status for the T1i (500D). Do any of you use this firmware on other Canon cameras? It will be nice to have better control under video mode like the big boys....

Fooling around with Photomatix & CS5

For HDR's, what do you prefer using? Photomatix, Photoshop or something else?

I'm excited to have the 1st opportunity today to put my T1i to use for the first time. Also, this is the 1st time to post pics on the forum and 1st time to use Photomatix. For now, I prefer Photomatix over the HDR merge feature in PS CS5.

Actually it's just an old rail car parked on a dead track in Eustis, Florida. I plan to return to make an attempt to improved upon what I have done. This time will use a tripod and a polarizing filter.

Thnaks to all for the feedback.

Here's my first picture for this thread, It's not my best work but it's recent and I'd like to hear how I could improve it next time.

Please feel free to be honest, I have thick skin and would really like to learn, so I need to know what I'm doing wrong.

a tripod would have helped here i think. You were at 1/4 second shutter speed which is not going to give good results even with IS. Also for a landscape shot f3.5 will give you a fairly small Depth of field in comparison to what is normally desired for landscapes. This is why the shot is blurred .

There is some lovely light there from the sunset and the street lights so a long exposure on a tripod would have a totally different final look.

I'm not expert, but just as viewer I like how sky, bridge, sunset and water were captured!

I would do it on the tripod as three pictures to be stitched together as panorama.
But some people, I guess, would prefer UWA lens for it.

Thanks for your feedback!!

So just an estimate, what do you consider long exposure? I wish I had my tripod when I was taking the pictures, I decided to leave it home and regretted it. So what would be a good starting point as far as aperture in this instance?

For these pictures I'm using M mode. Taking ISO to lowest 100. Setting aperture around 5.6 - 11.
Once ISO and Aperture are set camera will show me for how log it should be taken.
I'm using not ---I----, but ----I-I--- more often.
I'm using exposure bracketing as well.
