Both images are great, but I really want to know how you captured the second one!

Thanks!! The second on was a tripod in the cart. I took one picture of us stationary, then another picture w/ a 1 second exposure while I pulled the cart. Then I merged them in photoshop.

Awesome shots!!!!

Thank you!

If you guys want to see more of my stuff, just go to my Flickr, I'm usually shooting w/ my XSi or 40D. OR, the self portrait thread is where I'm at mostly, truthfully. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=908289

Hello Everyone!
I'm def a newbie...to the site and an SLR. I recently bought my T1i about a month ago, so I'm still learning how to use the camera and all the settings, and WOW there is SOOO much to learn!! LOL
I have been looking over the site the last 2 nights at all the amazing pictures on here, and there are some excellent shots!! I'll post a few I took with my new camera, and I hope to learn from this site since I see so many great photog's on here! :)

Any advice or take on what to fix to better my next shot is greatly appreciated too. :)
Angie

Got my Raynox DCR-250 and used it on my nifty fifty, just some quick macros without any preparations

Please excuse my ignorance but what is a Raynox DCR-250?

Angie, the first 3 seem a bit underexposed. It might just be the light you shot in, but you might play around with the exposure compensation and see if that makes them pop a bit more.

wow thanks man! That really means a lot! I appreciate it, it is definitely a great camera in terms of image quality and the low iso performance is great! I am definitely bit by the 5dII bug though :/ we'll see how many more months (or years) till I can justify getting one! for now this camera lets me do what I want so I guess I should be upgrading glass first!

Nice pic, i would personally expose that a tad more in light room.
Was this a hollister ad? haha jk
P.S, how much more do you like the yn 560 over the yn460 II? I may sell both of mine for 1 560

hahah honestly it was pretty much a hollister ad, she works there as a rep or something and this particular shoot was for a "snapshot" portfolio for a local modeling agency.

As for the flash. I.... LOVE.... THE .... 560!!!!! it is absolutely leaps and bounds better than the 460-ii. and blows the vivitar 285 out of the water. The build is just much better than the 460 in every way, you get more power control, you get zooming and a large body flash (it is similar to the 580 EX size). My favorite feature on it however is its beeps. you can turn it on or off, but when on a trigger or hot shoe it will give a double beep quickly when the flash fires, and then once fully recharged it gives a long beep so you know that it is ready to go. This for me at least is really really a nice feature because I don't have to guess on when my flash is recycled and accidentally get shots with the flash not firing because it is still recharged. great flash for the money, I probably will end up selling my 285 and 460-ii for another one!

When I was popping it with just the pilot button mine didn't beep either, It does work when I trigger it using a wireless trigger or on camera, press the top left button with the music notes until it beeps?
