I just got 2 ab800s and i have to fire them via pc cords for now. they kinda broke the bank so i couldn't afford to buy the cybersyncs that paul c. buff offers.

I have my cactus triggers from my canon hotshoe flash. Is it safe to fire the alien bees with the cactus trigger and reciever?

i don't see why it would be a problem, but i just wanted to make sure before i messed with something that i just spent a good chunk of change on.

thanks in advance!

Did just that for a long time before I bought the CyberSyncs, and this is how I earn my living. I still keep the eBay jobbers as a backup, though I have only used them once since I got the CyberSyncs.

so they are safe to run until i can pony up the cash for some cybersyncs?

because i don't need them to be SUPER reliable as i shoot for fun, and its mainly for automotive and portrait photography. i just need them to be safe to run because i'm not earning a return on what i spent for the lights :P
