After importing files into Lightroom from my Mac Hardrive, I wanted to re-locate them to my external harddrive to free up space. After doing this of course, Lightroom shows the file as missing. Is there an easy way to reloate the files? Because I am having alot of trouble re-loating the files from inside Lightroom.
Does this mean i'll have to delete my library and import the photos again from the external location?

Thankyou.

You should be able to just click on the question mark in the top right, then tell LR where the image is and it should update them all.

Or if there's a whole folder missing, right click on that and choose Locate Missing Folder.

The "automatic" way is to use Lightroom to move your files and folders. Lightroom operates as a Library, meaning if you want to move your files, you have to either do it within the system or, if you do it outside of the system you have to re-synch.

In the system, if you are in the Library module with no folder or file selected, go to Folders and click the Plus sign to browse folders and either choose a folder or create a new one. Then that folder is in the Library.

Then go to your folder of shots and click to select it, then go to your destination folder and right-click it and tell it to move the selected folders or files to the destination folder and it's done.

Thanks, that seems to work

I'll be doing this from now on, sounds a lot easier. Thanks!
