Brown Thrasher (toxostoma rufum)

I've been stalking this one for days. S/he's apparently building a nest - either that or is vegetarian.

This beauty is the only one I've seen this spring, and it's always in the same 20 foot stretch of roadside:

Thanks. I do like this bird. It hops around spritely like a smaller bird, but it's just under the size of a blue jay. Here's another look:
