.....okay....now I'm really curious and looking forward to this ! The brown truck is going to be bringing me an "ugly" 1DMk2 from KEH. Well shall see if this was a good deal or not !:D:rolleyes: $415....so let's just see. I will post some pix of it and from it when it gets here.
So....question to those of you who have this camera: what SD card do you recommend ? Is this camera capable of utilizing the benefits of sdHC ? Or do I just buy a cheapy generic SD card ?

Thanks.

I've always wondered what their "ugly" rating looks like. Is it possible to request for some photos of the actual item before buying?

I've wondered that too ! I have bought two used cameras from them...both were rated "EX".....and really, I would describe them as 'better than that'. The 1DS looks almost perfect, and the D30 looked essentially new. So....at least at that end of the scale, they seem to be more than fair in their rating. When I get this, I will post up some pix of it so y'all can see what it looks like :lol:

Regarding my original question about SD cards....nevermind...I should have done my homework first: I see now with the new vs of firmware I can use the newer SD cards.

I've heard ugly as being hit or miss..

IE I heard one guy got a pristine Nikkor sans the rabbit ears, but it was otherwise PERFECT [But since it lost its ears it was considered "ugly" by KEH..]

**** though...they got anymore of them at $415? KEH's return policy is awesome..

Nope..guess not

It might be a fried battery

I'm curious to see how it looks! I just spent almost that much getting the shutter in my 1D Mark II fixed!

.....followup. My favorite brown truck came by yesterday and brought my 'ugly' camera ! Really it's not THAT ugly !. Cancount sez 129581 actuations....so far it seems good. Going to get out and do some more test shots here pretty soon, but the first few dozen have been good.
Bear in mind if you are buying from KEH....they are very clear about what you get. I am happy with the price on this body, but I also understood, it was body only....no battery, no cables, no charger....nothing but the body. I already had spares of the other stuff I needed ( same parts as my 1DS ), so I was good with it.

Well, it does look "ugly" but, for $415, I'll buy one anyday..

looks like a good deal for the price, even if you end up having to replace the shutter at somepoint it will still have been good value.

....actually, I'm thinking about that ! A guy I work with is an artist as well as a photographer....I'm thinking of letting him do a camo job on it. That might be kinda cool !

I can't believe it, but the sensor is even clean.....it's actually cleaner than any of my other cameras !

So far, the pix look good out of it....I've checked for proper focus with three of my lenses so far ( 24-70, 70-200, 400 prime ) and all are good. Gonna stick the 200 prime on it next and play some more.

I suppose I should go find a freakin' duck....but instead, I think I'll go out and rattle off a few of some of the horses....

cool deal... I never get in on one like that.

I paid 800 for mine with all accessories, but it also had 248k shutter count!
