Two days of hiking and not a single soul. It was like we had the whole Seiras to ourselves.

I've done that in the Eastern Sierras, heading out from Horseshoe Meadows near Lone Pine and camping three nights by the Cottonwood Lakes, never seeing another soul until I get back to the trailhead at the end of the trip. I love it!

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Heh, I don't think this would ever take off in the UK, whilst I doubt many in the US know what the word "w@nker" means...

It may sound funny, but it sure makes me feel better. Take to Mari aout the dinner thing. Although, usually, John will wait until I get home and then hint that he is ready for dinner, until I get up and cook.

HI ZANE

Hey, I'm not that bad... I've cooked two nights in a row. Last night was London Broil, Caesar Salad and dinner rolls.

Good to know I'm not dead.

Great, is that what I have to look forward to?

People are one thing that bug me about photography.....I'd love to go take pics of the mayan ruins at tulum and chichén itzá but I know they're swarming with people and I don't like pictures of things I've been itching to see for years cluttered with tourons.

I had the same problem at the fly-in. I'd try to get a shot of an aircraft with nobody in it and as soon as I'd get it composed some idiot would walk right in front of me. I've even seen them do it after looking right at me and knowing full well I was about to take a shot...

Yep, that article is just wrong on both accounts. What were they thinking?

Wanker and Hershey Highway both have the same meanings around here that you guys are thinking of.

But to be fair, gay used to mean lively and happy. :D

Yay, me too!. I liked the original premise of the color game where a single color dominated the image. No one ever enforced that and now if there is a speck of color in the image it gets posted. I have not been in awhile I should look back.

Exactly!!! I play in that thread quite a bit. But, I don't know that I have ever posted a pic unless it has ALOT of the color called for.

Don't take it personally. Perhaps it just had enough and decided it was time to end it all. Anyone could have been sitting there when it made that decision. You don't need therapy or anything.

Yeah, corey pulls that crap too....and he'll never give me ideas of what to cook.

That is why he gets pancakes/waffles a lot. Easy to make, Aidan eats them well, and Ian can eat them now too. I even broke out the big guns last night and made them from scratch.

Since we both work, if hubby pulls this with me (when we are actually in the same state) I say "there is the kitchen" *points* you know how to cook. (he cooks better than I do).

Was a favorite word of mine when I was tween. My friends and I only went by that name. Very fond memories.

There was a great debate on the TV a few years back where some stuffy old "Colonel Blimp" type character was bemoaning the fact that the english language was evolving and evolving in a way he did not like, at one point he said that the homosexual community had stolen the word Gay and made it impossible for it to be used in its original context, another member of the panel (Simon Callow the actor) pointed out that they had not stolen it they had swapped it, as they had given queer back.

Touché it was great to watch :-)

Potatoes and cucumbers Sid!!!

poppie guy wrote in post #7967655 (external link)
Really, is that what I said? I remember hearing it on " The Cisco Kid" when I was little. I always thought it meant something like bye-bye friends see ya in the morning.

LOL!!!

Sid, for the longest time, I would say "Hasta Tamale" when I was saying goodbye to everyone. It is a mix up of words to be funny... Hasta Manana means 'see you tomorrow'. Tamale kinda sounds like 'tomorrow' and it's a spanish word. In my little mind it was funny.
Then Terri started mixing up spanish words and food words as well for goodbyes. Lke : 'Tortilla later'. That one CRACKS me up.

It has since morphed into random food words being used as goodbye.
Sadly, you just caught the very tail end of it, so 'potatoes and cucumbers' didn't mean anything. LOL!

What you said was correct, you got the meaning right and everything. Lisa was just being funny.
