Saw that one. It was actually quite interesting to watch. I never imagined that it was that labor intensive.

There is a bit of friendly competition between NY and PA over bologna....

NY has Croghan bologna...only made by the Croghan Meat Market...but offered for sale at a few specialty shops around the state...
http://croghanbologna.com/ (external link) and
http://www.adirondackcheese.com/croghanbologna.aspx (external link)

and PA has Lebanon bologna....made in a few more places....but Seltzer's is pretty much recognized as the best.
http://www.seltzerslebanonbologna.com/ (external link)

The tastes are very different....but both are excellent and are way better tasting, smelling and looking than the stuff Oscar Meyer calls B-o-l-o-g-n-a!

I am working on race pictures from last week. If you ever want a good smile out of a bunch of EMTs, when you approach them and point your camera, as they look up at you curiously, shout "okay everyone say broken femur" I got a good reaction:D

hmmm, looking at tickets to Vegas for Christmas.... it sounds so fun!!

I just found this old post tagged on my home PC... I went to Vegas for Christmas once, in 2003. It's exactly the same as any other day of the year. There was nothing special going on for the holiday. There weren't even all that many Christmas decorations up. The holiday that Vegas really celebrates is New Years Eve, and I wouldn't go anywhere year the Strip that night on a dare!

She might just be my favorite dog ever. I still have my Ashley calendar sitting next to my desk. I leaf through it occasionally.

She was just 'special.'

Well, yeah.

Had a lot of fun yesterday, but all that walking/sightseeing did wear me out. We had lunch at The Grill on the Alley, and our server was saying that within the last week, he had served Tom Hanks and Jerry Seinfeld in the very booth in which we were sitting. We ended up at the Beverly Hills Hotel for high tea at the Polo Lounge, and saw Valerie Bertinelli as well as a whole gaggle of familiar looking people. Our server told us that Nicole Kidman had reservations, but was a no-show.

I tend not to be impressed by celebrity, but my wife and her friend were in 7th heaven. I was impressed by the lineup of cars in valet parking at the Beverly Hills Hotel....lots of Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, etc. Our bug-splattered Lexus was definitely out of its element.

We did see the paparazzi in action... I don't know who the celebrity was, but there was a big black Bentley parked outside the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and there were about 20 guys jockeying for position, all of them with cameras and video equipemnt. I was reminded of circling vultures. We didn't stick around to see who they were waiting to ambush, but we'll probably see it in the Enquirer next week.

The women did a little shopping.....saw a dress for $10,200 that looked like a big ball of lint and used dental floss.

Just a nice day.

LMAO, I love your account of stuff....

Diane, I am very impressed with this shoot. Great poses, love the M&M's.

Thank you Becky! She was very, very easy to guide and work with, and really, it was hard to get her to STOP smiling.

Well, apparently the lady who owned the mine lived there. Where the arch was used to be a tower...it was twice as high...four stories. The arch used to be a fancy doorway. Apparently she used to watch the mine workers from the tower. And, on another side there are holes in the bricks that they supposely shot people from....I'm hearing this from kids though....
yes, it did. And yes, I can. I can see pretty much everything except photobucket and imageshack.

Cool, ok....and lol on the kid versions of the story...wonder how accurate they are.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #8011453 (external link)
Diane, those are both great shots. Her face looks oof in the first one, but it's probably from compression. What do you use to re-size your images for attaching?

Just been using PS and sizing down the pixels density to 96. And, thank you!

short5 wrote in post #8011739 (external link)
You should have gone while you were in there with him then you would not have had an accident.

 :p:p I like when you're in good humor. ;)

My internal is 250 G. And it was full.

I have a 750 G external, and it was full.

I went to go buy a 1 TB external, but the 1.5s were on sale, so I bought 2.

Zoinks dude! Sounds almost as bad as me! I need to go thru some of my shots...there's some where saving the jpeg would be plenty, you know?

Seltzer's was featured on a recent episode of "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe....but even Mike commented that this particular dirty job had the best end result of any that he has done.

Cool! Gotta love the bologna (and for those of you unfamiliar, it is NOT like the Oscar Meyer kind.

Hmm.. i woke up this morning and it was a beautiful sunny day. I thought I would head out to the local forest preserve and snap a few pics of wildflowers. So I tossed my bag into the car and headed into work.

I got into work an hour later and still the sky was cloudless. Worked for a few hours and was going to head out at lunch time. Just headed out and the 18% gray sky i back. We had a grand total of 5 hours of sunshine, now all is gloomy again. :(

We are now on day 8 of 18% skies....I'm ready to scream...and my flahrs are drowning. I know your frustration all too well!

That she was. It still hurts for me to look at old photos of her...

I still have my Ashley calendar hanging on the wall. I'm waiting for the year 2036. The dates will match and I can use it again.

NOAA has been hinting at thunderstorms around here for a couple days now, but they're only giving us a 20% chance. That usually means it ain't gonna happen, but the sky is really turning mean looking right now! It was clear, sunny and hot when I got home from work an hour ago. Now it's dark, hot, muggy and the sky is turning black.
