We used to play with it when we were kids, and nobody thought anything of it. When we lived in San Jose, there was a park near our home that had been a quicksilver mine at one time.

So that's why you are the way you are. :)

Actually we use to play with it as well. I remember when it was in those little puzzle games before they started putting in beads.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

My dad was a plumbing and heating contractor....I had baby food jars full of mercury. Every time he replaced a thermostat, I would snap the end off the vial and pour the mercury into the jars. It was amazing how much that stuff weighed.

I don't think it causes DNA damage. It sort of makes you crazy.

A heart worthy story. And what became of the jars? Still next to the phermeldahyde jars with dead goodies in them?

Today is a mellow day. Quiet too. It's supposed to be in the 80's again but I'm sunburnt from the weekend so I'm doing chores around here.

MIL will be here starting Wed. I hope we have a nice visit.

The shop that contained the jars burned to the ground in the mid-1980s....I can't imagine how much lead, silver, and mercury is buried under the new building.

Mellow is good. Quiet is better. 80s even better.

Good luck with the MIL visit.
