Ooh, So, did the Cole slaw start to ferment?..

I hope not...:)

and exactly how much experience do you have in smelling a$$es?:shock:

Ok, well not a great deal. In fact I have never smelled the a$$crack of a construction worker.. ever.. But I have a very vivid imagination and I am pretty certain that the burnt kimchi was a good representation. ;)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I really struggled in when labeling some of them in my gallery. I was trying to see the collar/tag to tell them apart. Unless you can see her leg patch, it's really hard to distinguish them.

If you can see their backs, the patches over their shoulder blades are mirror images, too. On one the right shoulder patch is forward of the left shoulder one; on the other it's reversed.

no help with the flash question?

You're talking about the "external metering" photo-sensor they added to the 580EX II, not about using it in full manual where you set the power levels? I don't have an EX II; if I were using a very complex off-camera flash arrangement, I might be more inclined to let the flash have its head, or to do manual power settings. I have used Vivitar 283 & 285 slaves this way. If it's relatively simple, or if you're using it in combination with a flash that only handles E-TTL and can't cope with manual power settings I'd stick with the E-TTL.

Hi T, look forward to them
I us the G9 like my other cameras though will green box it occasionally for a fast snap. The thing is I still have to look to see if the camera picked the right settings and it takes about the same time to set it. i might as well use av mode.

Same here. Only difference is the P&S models are more likely to get knocked to the wrong setting than the DSLRs are.

G'night Becky and Diane.

Becky, I am looking forward to the day that you are not working so hard. I think we should burn stuff in June; a ritualistic burning involving spreadsheets going up in flames and beer

Paper that's been beer-soaked doesn't burn all that well, just sayin'. Vodka or whiskey works better . . .

Not even in the same league. burnt popcorn is to kimchi as fresh cut roses are to a sweaty construction workers a$$ crack. Two different beasts. Anyway, we found the culprit. He got a phone call and had forgotten it was in there and he set the timer to 15 minutes. That stuff cooked for a full 15 minutes. Funny thing is that even he was complaining that it was getting stinky and never made the connection. :)

I do so not want to know how you are able to make that comparison . . .

Nothing at all... Just seems like old times... Didn't you used to have Dot as your avatar a long time ago?

Yep. It's an old avatar of mine. I felt the need to get rid of my last one so I changed it to that solid black one I keep in reserve. But then I remembered that it made a few people here think something was wrong last time I did that, so I went with the next one that caught my attention in my avatar folder...

At first I thought it was part of the train and was trying to figure out what it was.

LMBO! And as luck would have it, Blondie's Flat Stanley books from the book club came home with her today. I'm going to show her the UP engine after a bit here. She'll enjoy it.

Lol...naps RULE!!

Mayan math hurts their brains. When you explain that instead of the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands place it's the ones, twenties, four hundreds, and 8 thousands places....makes their head spin.

And, yes, yay for one more monday....although the transition from working to being a SAHM is always a rough one. The first couple of weeks make me crazy.

Naps do rule. And just remember, you'll have plenty of support in making the transition. And the local playground....that's your FRIEND. A tired boy is a good boy, lol.

3Turner wrote in post #7942594 (external link)
Or that^^
Diane just had to put in all the details.

LMBO, I didn't know who/what Flat Stanley was until a couple of weeks ago either, so that's why I linked it. Wasn't trying to be an overachiever, honest!

G'mae all. Hope ya all had a nice weekend. Mine was very hectic. M y brother-in-laws mom passed saturday morning. It was pretty unexpected. She was out Friday, had her hair done, did some shopping my sister paid her a visit with the kids, a good day. She awoke Saturday and complained about not feeling well. My SIL's husband (is he also my BIL?) came into her room and she looked grey. He called 911 but she passed before help arived. Seems her heart just gave out. She had a pacemaker and it was trying to revive her but to no avail. The 911 team got a pulse for a moment but it too faded. The whole day just reminded me how tenuous life can be. She had a great day as her last day on earth and passed quitly with family. Sorry to ramble..

I'm sorry for your family's loss GilJohn, I'm glad she was able to go peacefully though.

I have a MMQ cooking, but no time to post it. Wade is making a delivery out of state, and I'm going to go with him. Will be gone most of the day, and I need to be ready in about 20 minutes. (And here I sit, having coffee with my sister, LOL!)

I'll see you tonight!

Have a great, safe trip!

Awww, don't let them scare you. Earthquakes are so overrated. The media blows everything so out of proportion! The big ones that cause a lot of damage are very rare. The small ones, like yesterday's, can almost be fun...

Um....depends on your definition of fun..... but I do agree that the media blows everything out of proportion.

Well, what I'm really worried about is keeping them BOTH happy. We have a great swingset out back for Aidan but Ian isn't walking so it's harder for him to be outside....he gets grumpy quickly outside and doesn't like to swing either. Weirdo.

We had to cut our trees down last summer. I'm tempted to get one of those shade tents. Ian does like the deck but the floor is too rough for his knees....also tempted to get a chunk of carpet to stick out there.

Good luck with the talk!

Thanks it really wasn't much of a talk, I basically said I'm not spending any more home time fixing the mistakes. He asked "how about quarterly" I said no, that would take longer as there would be three months of mistakes to fix. He said, OK.
