Thread must have come down with the Monday Blahs . . .

I got real busy all of a sudden. Work is cutting into POTN time. ;)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I faded out last night before I was able to catch up so this MQ will run over from last night. In an affort to keep it manageable, I didn't quote everything. If I leave anyone out, my apologies...

Paula....ENJOY IT! Can I come visit and not talk for about a week? Seriously....I'm about talked out.

You are welcome to come here any time you want. We have the room and we can go to the zoo, Wild Animal Park, and Seaworld, all for free... And one of our tenants is a massage therapist and has a studio set up in a garage across the alley.

Permagrin wrote in post #7938002 (external link)
YAY!! That was an extremely fast turn around. I hope it's working just great.

I took it out yesterday. It's working fine. After I reprogrammed all the settings they changed at the repair facility and put the grid screen back into it.

Permagrin wrote in post #7938002 (external link)
Good idea re: using the harness. We flopped the seats down yesterday and hooked his leash to a tie down on the back of them. Worked well but a harness would be better.

We got a locking climbing carabiner at REI and use it to hook Buddy's walking harness to one of the seatbelts in theback seat. It works perfectly.

Austin maybe but the rest of Texas would not tolerate that

3Turner wrote in post #7938229 (external link)
Perhaps you're right....Austin is like a little California though...so who knows.

Sounds like Austin would be a perfect place to live...

Thanks, Zane.

Slurm has been plaguing me for some time. I keep hitting the sensor with the Arctic Butterfly but can't seem to get it all. I'm hoping someone will have a wet system with them next month and show me how to properly clean my sensor.

I always got streaks when I tried wet cleaning. I was sent a SensorKlear pen (like a mini-Lenspen) by Copperhill and I love it. It works very well and at's nowhere the hassle of the wet method. Also, there's no problems with the cleaning liquids when flying. You could get one for yourself, or just wait until June. I'll be bringing mine with me.

I was suppose to do a maternity shoot today but after asking again and again for the address to her house (the shoot was in the baby's nursery) she finally sent it 10 minutes before I needed to be there and it was not a local address it was like an hour away... so I canceled... probably not the best idea, but this kind of stuff just isn't worth it to me, I like having fun taking pictures and when I take pictures of people I don't enjoy it. So, I'm going back to just having fun and taking pictures of whatever random thing catches my fancy

One of the reasons I got out of wedding photography...

Neat! It looks like they use those bumpers quite a bit...

I'm very impressed with all the India pictures. It looks like a wonderful place to visit.

sorry missed this. I only used it en E-TTL (though it was the 580 ex I) I found it to be extremely accurate.

It still is... ;)

T.D. wrote in post #7939753 (external link)
Yes. I have the 580 EX (original). I use it in ETTL. The only adjustment I ever make is to dial the power up or down. I let the camera and flash do everything else. That works for me.

That's pretty much how I use it...

Permagrin wrote in post #7939766 (external link)
nope it's a hawaain name. Haleakala and we'll call her Hale (like Hale berry)

Is there some significance to your naming your second dog after a volcano?

Cute puppy pictures, Lisa, and the flowers were lovely.

This is a nice Hawaiian name.

oh lol Heather...that's such a funny story. I wonder how many bumps and bruises your brother had

misspix wrote in post #7941030 (external link)
I was picturing a trip down the stairs via the ankle hold

It might explain her brother's behavior. :D

Belmondo wrote in post #7942496 (external link)
Yeah, but just barely. 4.7 just doesn't get much attention around here. Lonnie probably felt it, although he's not much closer than I am to the epicenter. I suspect people in West Los Angeles felt it pretty good----it was within a couple miles of the L.A. International Airport.

It supposedly was felt in San Diego, but I think we slept through it...

We were talking about Texas further back... Apparently there was an earthquake in North Texas yesterday that have everyone flustered. I had to laugh at the one guy working in a liquor or convenience store. His first reaction was to run outside because he "thought a beer truck had hit the building..."

Ok.. major office **** ahead.

Some f$%k-head just microwaved some kimchi and fish and boy does it stink. It is the strongest rotten egg smelling stuff I have ever smelt. It is wreaking up the place almost to a point that I want to go pull the fire alarm and git out of here. P.U... stinky..

Kimchi is good stuff, but in a microwave? There are some thing you just don't nuke...

Off to execute a few smileys...
