Not much. All we know at this point is that it is tax related. Which tax I don't know there are only 50 taxes collected by the state, so I don't know yet. We got servers back/back online this afternoon so that will make doing business a ton easier. Time will tell.

Pretty well actually. I am finally getting myself in a position to participate more here along with all the work I am doing at the house. But for the most part all is good.

Lol...and some nice ones.

I am officially irritated. Corey shouldn't have fireman's tonight because it's the wrong monday but he tells me 3 minutes ago that he has it at 7. Darn it. The boys JUST woke up from a late nap and this does not bode well for my evening. GAH!

Thanks it really wasn't much of a talk, I basically said I'm not spending any more home time fixing the mistakes. He asked "how about quarterly" I said no, that would take longer as there would be three months of mistakes to fix. He said, OK.

Thanks John.

I also have the colors going in the wash.:D It is actually nice to have to the time to do my housework for a change, though I did bring today's invoicing home to return, it might be done tomorrow morning, however.

For those who are still following it, the TR Index was just getting too unwieldy. I've split it into 4 (so far) posts; series up through Gear Wars, LOTRR, avatars/character sketches and stand-alones/shorts. The latter 3 follow the original, and are linked directly from the top of that post.

Wow, Jon! Thanks! You rock. :D

We realized this morning just how much of our life revolves around this thread. Heather keeps track of where zoo keeper jobs are available and she was looking at some this morning. There were positions at Brookfield and I said "Well, that's near Becky and Gil." and when Heather mentioned Maryland I immediately thought of Zane, Jon, Diane, and Dan (Wool). You know your really involved with an online community when one of the criteria for a new job is how close you are to members0Aof the group.

Amazing how we impact each other's lives, huh? LOL

Glad to hear she's halfway mended.

Some good news
The horse, Sweetie, was placed in a horse rescue and has a good chance of finding a home. As much as I wanted to spend some time with her, I am so glad for this!

The red malamute was adopted, too. Very happy about that.

One of the things I20did today was bring a few unclaimed strays in to the 'adoptable' area.

Beau (dont know his name, he just looks like a Beau) is a 107 pound rott. cross. I was asked if I could 'handle' him. Please
Anyway, he was such a gentleman, oh so sweet. I spent a good 45 minutes in his kennel with him. He looked lost, kept going to the door like 'I know they are coming, where ARE they?' Poor guy. I hope whoever is supposed to find him, does.

*sigh* I am going to love your shelter stories, I can tell already. *big grin* YAY about the red malamute!

I don't know if we've ever said this, but we believe Kona to be very energetic. Really. We've also discovered that placing Kona inside a vehicle for long periods of time can be emotionally challenging. We've since learned of some handy tricks to keep the trip more enjoyable and relatively safe for us and the dog. This requires duct tape, three fathoms of piano wire and Tabasco sauce.

Normally I'm drawn to the ones that look like spots or puzzles (like Kona) but he brought out the two darkest girls first (since we said we wanted a colorful female) and the face & tail of this one just got me. The others were all cute...I was really drawn to the super white ones with just a few dots too but they end up very flecked and neither of us like the flecking as much a the spots.

not that you wanted to know all that Sorry. I'm awak this morning.

Of COURSE we want to know that!

Permagrin wrote in post #7938002 (external link)
Good idea re: using the harness. We flopped the seats down yesterday and hooked his leash to a tie down on the back of them. Worked well but a harness would be better.

That's what we do. We have a couple leashes hooked to the carseat tie down in the truck, and just clip them to the dogs' collars when we get in.

I'm sorry Diane. To quote Anne O.G.G "these are times that try the soul". The trick is to be more inventive than your child...which is sometimes very hard. Neil's India Blog Chapter 4

As I said, the room was very Spartan but the view from my window was AWESOME!

So after taking a few pictures balancing my camera on the balcony as I had not brought a tripod with me, I went to bed.

Up at dawn to catch the best light and here are my first views of the temple.

Notice the queue of people waiting to enter the temple, I joined then and expected at least a two hour slow crawl to the temple.

When, as luck would have it, the local MP who was newly elected the day before showed up with his entourage and an express route was opened up for them, and I tagged on behind them.

The inside of the temple is if anything more elaborate than the outside.

Having passed through the temple I walked around the lake.

The Gallery is HERE

I used it for my shoot with the baby and it worked ok but did have me overexposing some things, I finally put it at 1/3 and bounced it with my lumiquest and it was OK.

I bounce mostly with mine.

More good advice. Unfortunately, wearing a hat will put you at risk of hateful comments from hateful hat haters.

I just ordered Hale's crate and leash/collars...her signature color has suddenly become apple green

YAY! I like apple green! It will look so cute on her!

Yeah? Well, sometimes for that extra oomph that we need for lighting, we light wads of steel wool and lob them at the subject.

Neat!

=0 A Okay I just made green beens with smoked paprika and almonds, yum. It uses a bit of sugar to caramelize the shallots which is good but I don't really like adding sugar to stuff.
I also made clams in basil and wine which were not bad but not great. I should have done mussels.

Evening cohorts

Oh yum! I want you to cook for me one day. :D
And I like being a cohort. *grin*

While on the cruise, we got towel animals on our beds every evening. Of course Evan liked them so much that when we found a book on board on how to make them, he had to have it.

So, I made a mini-me!!

Cute! And I like the scorpion too! (for the record, I knew what it was immediately, LOL)

Good Evening Folks.

Another long day in the trenches, got lots done again though. Tomorrow will be another full day too (holiday here). We will have the office ready for Lisa and me to move in, though that alone is a monstrous job.

YAY on getting so much done!

misspix wrote in post #7940824 (external link)
Neil, thank you for the cultural background on your shots. I don't know how many ways to say 'I love your work'. So I will just stick to that

THAT!!!! ^ ^ ^ ^

Bummer on Casey *sigh* But at least she knew herself well enough to say no.

*misses her nambiness*

Yes, bummer. But you're right. I was glad she was honest.

And Awww. ;) *sniff*

He is one of the (many) guards at the temple, i guess they are a bit like the Swiss Guards at the Vatican. The Sikhs were are traditionally a a warier people and to this day all Sikh men should carry a small knife/dagger called a Kirpan.

This gentleman has wrapped his around his head to keep it dry.

Neil, that's one of the awesome things about your pictures, is that you know so much information and history behind the shots. I learn SO much!

G'night Becky and Diane.

Becky, I am looking forward to the day that you are not working so hard. I think we should burn stuff in June; a ritualistic burning involving spreadsheets going up in flames and beer

LOL! That. Looking forward to it.

poppie guy wrote in post #7941083 (external link)
So what's up with Cat not being here?

Lots of family here. Been busy visiting and cooking and cleaning. LOL

Belmondo wrote in post #7941181 (external link)
Sure is quiet without her.

:p LOL

a couple of shots from the other day.

I asked the guys to pose for me so I could see how my new 85 does with portraits.

Puddle immediately jumped into his sauve/debonair pose...and Chris, inspired by Puddle's pose immediately went into the "bokeh of disdain" pose

ROFLOL!!!!

then I was working on my signature shot of a lifetime...when a certain meany head decided to make it his own sig shot

the 2nd shot didn't live up to what the first one would have and hence is no longer my sig shot.

G'mae all. Hope ya all had a nice weekend. Mine was very hectic. M y brother-in-laws mom passed saturday morning. It was pretty unexpected. She was out Friday, had her hair done, did some shopping my sister paid her a visit with the kids, a good day. She awoke Saturday and complained about not feeling well. My SIL's husband (is he also my BIL?) came into her room and she looked grey. He called 911 but she passed before help arived. Seems her heart just gave out. She had a pacemaker and it was trying to revive her but to no avail. The 911 team got a pulse for a moment but it too faded. The whole day just reminded me how tenuous life can be. She had a great day as her last day on earth and passed quitly with family. Sorry to ramble..

So sorry for your loss, JJ.

And thus ends my MMMQ. Thanks for your patience. :D

Well....for the San Diego Zoo and Disneyland...yes, there are. :D

The tour guides can also do Sea World, Balboa Park, the Midway, Maritime and Railway museums and there's even the Museum of Photographic Arts.
