For those who are still following it, the TR Index was just getting too unwieldy. I've split it into 4 (so far) posts; series up through Gear Wars, LOTRR, avatars/character sketches and stand-alones/shorts. The latter 3 follow the original, and are linked directly from the top of that post.
Wow, Jon! Thanks! You rock.

We realized this morning just how much of our life revolves around this thread. Heather keeps track of where zoo keeper jobs are available and she was looking at some this morning. There were positions at Brookfield and I said "Well, that's near Becky and Gil." and when Heather mentioned Maryland I immediately thought of Zane, Jon, Diane, and Dan (Wool). You know your really involved with an online community when one of the criteria for a new job is how close you are to members0Aof the group.
Amazing how we impact each other's lives, huh? LOL

Thanks! I'll tell him.
And no.

Mom got into surge ry and they operated on her ankle, and got it all welded back together. The knee was too swollen, so it will have to wait. They have it scheduled for Wednesday. I have not seen her today, but Lisa is up there right now.
Glad to hear she's halfway mended.

Yes. Yes it is. You know what my sister says about pizza?
Pizza is like sex. When it's good, it's GOOD. When it's bad, it's still pretty good.

On an unrelated note, Maggie stayed home today for the first time since she's come to live with me. Ordinarily she goes everywhere with me. Or she 's at day care.
Best I can tell, she slept the entire time. She wiggled non-stop for quite awhile when I got home.
Bendy wiggles are an amazing thing, aren't they? I live for bendy wiggles.

Some good news
The horse, Sweetie, was placed in a horse rescue and has a good chance of finding a home. As much as I wanted to spend some time with her, I am so glad for this!
The red malamute was adopted, too. Very happy about that.
One of the things I20did today was bring a few unclaimed strays in to the 'adoptable' area.
Beau (dont know his name, he just looks like a Beau) is a 107 pound rott. cross. I was asked if I could 'handle' him. Please
Anyway, he was such a gentleman, oh so sweet. I spent a good 45 minutes in his kennel with him. He looked lost, kept going to the door like 'I know they are coming, where ARE they?' Poor guy. I hope whoever is supposed to find him, does.
*sigh* I am going to love your shelter stories, I can tell already. *big grin* YAY about the red malamute!

I don't know if we've ever said this, but we believe Kona to be very energetic. Really. We've also discovered that placing Kona inside a vehicle for long periods of time can be emotionally challenging. We've since learned of some handy tricks to keep the trip more enjoyable and relatively safe for us and the dog. This requires duct tape, three fathoms of piano wire and Tabasco sauce.

Normally I'm drawn to the ones that look like spots or puzzles (like Kona) but he brought out the two darkest girls first (since we said we wanted a colorful female) and the face & tail of this one just got me. The others were all cute...I was really drawn to the super white ones with just a few dots too but they end up very flecked and neither of us like the flecking as much a the spots.
not that you wanted to know all that Sorry. I'm awak this morning.
Of COURSE we want to know that!
Permagrin wrote in post #7938002
Good idea re: using the harness. We flopped the seats down yesterday and hooked his leash to a tie down on the back of them. Worked well but a harness would be better.
That's what we do. We have a couple leashes hooked to the carseat tie down in the truck, and just clip them to the dogs' collars when we get in.

Neil's India Blog Chapter 4
As I said, the room was very Spartan but the view from my window was AWESOME!
So after taking a few pictures balancing my camera on the balcony as I had not brought a tripod with me, I went to bed.
Up at dawn to catch the best light and here are my first views of the temple.
Notice the queue of people waiting to enter the temple, I joined then and expected at least a two hour slow crawl to the temple.
When, as luck would have it, the local MP who was newly elected the day before showed up with his entourage and an express route was opened up for them, and I tagged on behind them.
The inside of the temple is if anything more elaborate than the outside.
Having passed through the temple I walked around the lake.
The Gallery is HERE

G'mae all. Hope ya all had a nice weekend. Mine was very hectic. M y brother-in-laws mom passed saturday morning. It was pretty unexpected. She was out Friday, had her hair done, did some shopping my sister paid her a visit with the kids, a good day. She awoke Saturday and complained about not feeling well. My SIL's husband (is he also my BIL?) came into her room and she looked grey. He called 911 but she passed before help arived. Seems her heart just gave out. She had a pacemaker and it was trying to revive her but to no avail. The 911 team got a pulse for a moment but it too faded. The whole day just reminded me how tenuous life can be. She had a great day as her last day on earth and passed quitly with family. Sorry to ramble..
So sorry for your loss, JJ.
And thus ends my MMMQ. Thanks for your patience.
