This is my first post in this forum. I usually take photos of my daughter but I was outside the other day and there was this Robin in my tree. So I thought what the heck I'll try my hand at taking some photos of the bird. All I can says is I thought to myself 'trying to get a decent shot of a bird is so much harder than getting a good shot of my 2 year old running around'. My hat goes off to all of you that get those amazing photos of bird!!

More than a fine effort for a first on birds, so Well done!.

Obviously a shame the branch masked a bit of the tail end out -but hey, it's nicely focussed.

It happens - We can't always expect the birds to pose in the ideal position, although sometimes they do move up (or down) to a better position for them & not us.

Keep at it - You have the eye for it, so let's see some more.

To be honest, most times a whole bird is desired but at the same time, a little more natural look like a branch in front, especially if it does not block the body or head, is perfectly fine by me. In fact, there have been times when it actually enhanced the shot in my opinion. I always say, shoot 'em like YOU like 'em!

Wow! This is one of the best photos I've ever seen of this species. Congrats on such a nice capture! :)

Thank You everyone for all of the wonderful and encouraging comments. These are the type of comments that inspire me to keep at it. I loved taking photos of this bird, not only was it challenging but it was so rewarding!!!

That's exactly how I got started. Now I can't stop! It can be very rewarding IMO. Nice shot BTW. Hope to see more.
