Talked to the seller. He says nothing wrong, original shutter, and a little under 50k clicks.

Too good to be true?
He also has very good ratings

I can believe it. It is an older camera(still better then most newer bodies), but I think it is lacking a charger. If it is, that is another $340 to add onto that unless you already own one. Besides, there is still plenty of time to go before it sells. I am willing to bet that the price will be closer to $900-1100.

Dude, there is no charger, no box, no cables, no manuals. Yes, it's a good price, but you need the charger and they cost like $500 in themselves. "So now your $700 camera is up to $1200

WHAT?

Why does a charger cost so much?

If so, I might just buy through adorama

I would find out the actual serial number on it. The picture sure looks like it has a bogus serial number for a 1D MKII

Lots of folks are selling the chargers separately to try to recoup some of thier investment. I think you would be nuts paying 300 bucks for one though. I see them priced used in widely varying prices as low as 89.00 in the past. Heck you can buy a whole 1D camera outfit for as little as 400.00 WITH charger. They also sell aftermarket versions too.

I just found one at Amazon for $332, on sale, but the regular MSRP is $541. And I have no idea why. It seems like a perfect thing to pirate and sell for $39.95 out of Hong Kong. What could be so hard about making a battery charger?

If you have a charger - and extra batteries you are good to go. The batteries are $130 ---

Ive seen cheap aftermarket ones, but they only have one battery cable and they dont do the refresh operation. They just charge one battery at a time..

Yeah, the lack of charger is a deal breaker.

Just checking the past couple weeks on Ebay, several used ones sold for between 128.00 and 160.00. I would certainly adjust the amount willing to pay by at least 150.00 just for that, and then more for cables and etc you wont be getting. Doesnt look like you will get software, box, etc.

About a year ago there was a (Hong Kong) seller on EBay who was clearing out his supply of third party brand NP-E3 battery chargers for a little over US$100 ea but the name escapes me at this time.

how does this set up sound:
40d
70-200mm f4
sigma 24-60mm f2.8
50mm f1.8
300mm f4 IS (or should I do the 400 f5.6 non-is? for sports and wildlife)
17-40mm f4

sounds good. instead of buying the sigma 24-60 and 17-40 get the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS. On a cropped body I would get the 300mm f/4L IS instead of the 400mm f/5.6
