I like the pose and lighting on the first photo but the visible curve of the paper bothers me. It's hard to tell how far she is from the background, but often moving away from the background will fix this. It's also an easy fix in Photoshop.
As for the suggestion to move the light closer, I ran into a lot of problems with this when I was starting out. Due to the inverse square law of light, the brightness of the subject is not linear with the distance from the light. The problem I ran into is that with the light really close I would get one photo with the proper exposure, one where they were overexposed, one where they were underexposed all without changing settings or lighting. Finally realized they were moving just slightly towards or away from the light an d it was enough to change the exposure drastically. They were only moving 6" but it was enough. Moving the light back a foot fixed the problem.
