What did you eat?

Photograph it creatively and let's see who eats the most, the least, the healthiest (or unhealthiest!), etc.

Here's my lunch from Monday. Fresh sushi - yum!
(shot with EF-S10-22, then layered so as to bring out the detail of the sushi while using a Guassian blur on the buildings).
:D

Well that makes this one a toughy!

What about creative pics of anything (breakfast/lunch/dinner/picnic/late-night gorging session) you're eating, and/or the people you're eating it with?

Should make for some interesting lighting challenges.....go on, try it, and you'll see what I mean.

Simon, I'm no expert on Japanese cuisine but I'd swear that morsel at camera left has an eye....

:lol::lol: It kinda looks like that doesn't it. Except that you're looking at sliced-pickled ginger! Which NEVER had an eye in the first place.....I hope!

Really? Slightly off-topic addition, but here it comes:

When I first met my brother-in-law here, he took us to an excellent restaurant where they serve a wide selection of dishes including sushi and sashimi.

After various "entrées" - which I was ok with, having eaten plenty of sushi in the UK - out comes this beautiful, fresh, whole squid. We're talking 18" long!!!

The back was pure white and pre-sliced so that you could, with your own chopstickes, choose a slither and eat it - with a dash of soy sauce and some wasabi of course!

So, brother-in-law offers me the first choice, and when I touched the back of the squid, the tentacles at the front began squirming!
Oh yes....it was really fresh!!!!

Don't worry though....I didn't let the side down, and took it like a man. To my utter surprise, it was the most delicate, soft, melt-in-the-mouth squid I've ever eaten.

After we'd eaten it's back, the chef came out of the kitchen looking like the happiest man alive, and right there, sliced off it's tentacles and ran back to the kitchens while the waiter-type-dude took away the rest.....moments later, out came deep-fried squid tentacles in a fantastic batter.

YUM, YUM, YUM!

[The tale (tail!) of my welcome party from my employers 5 years ago can wait until another day]
;)

Truth be told, Japanese food takes some getting-used to....but it's worth it.
I've lost 22lbs since I moved here without any effort at all!

Looks interesting! But I think I'm still winning in the "healthy" department!

I never did understand the value of deep frying sushi. My son loves it. There is place in Provo, UT that does it and he thinks it's fantastic. Too unhealthy for me.

No, no....it's no competition!
I was only teasing due to the deep-fried sushi!
Though my wife would probably have a seizure if she saw the deep-fried version of her country's most famous offering to the world!
As Suzie said, I can't see the point.

But....having said all that, great submissions guys!
:D
