I think 1 hour isn't quite enough to gather a number of good shots...for anyone. The ones where she is 'squatting' on the ground smiling don't really work for me. The arm under her chin and smile (# 1b, 3b & 4b) look kind of awkward/forced. Pose in # 6b also looks a little contorted. Although not bad I'm not particularly a big fan of the grass in the foreground shots (# 3a, 5a & 6a). There is good separation between model and background but the grass in the foreground is kind of distracting.

Maybe cause her face is a little less angular I think shots like # 2a, 4a & 5a work better for me (would prefer no crooked arm but it's less distracting) . They are nice simple portrait shots which are pleasing to the eyes. Considering you only had an hour to work with I'd say you did reasonably well man.

Kind of a curious question...why did you choose a golf course? Is she a golfer?

big apple my man..

dude.. i am the golfer.. i wanted to try something different, since all of my work normally is urban stuff. Golf course is was the destination..

at this golf course there were to have tall grass, but they cut it all down !!! so my fields with tall grass dreamy shot was not going to happen.. and the threatening clouds and weather, well sucked..

also the one hour was cut down to actually 45 mins because 15 mins was walk time.. and twice we had to wait for golfers to tee off.. ha ha.. of course they had the right of way.. but imagin this, every cart that went by took a long look at the subject/model..

ken, i have seen your work before.. very nice.. when is your next shoot?

To be honest, I find that there are a lot of uneven and harsh tones on her face on most shots. They're quite distracting. But composition wise, I like 5 and 6 the most.

Ahhh...no wonder. Not easy to get access and shoot on golf courses that's why I asked. Yean in 45 minutes bro getting good shots are tough. Also kind of curious...why did you choose to shoot naked this time and not use umbrellas or a softbox? I've always found it really hard to get the lighting to look soft enough for the way I like portraits when shooting naked.

I haven't done too many photoshoots recently but I'm in the process of moving back to Hong Kong. Got 2 more weeks in NYC. Plan to do some more studio shoots after I settle in. My big gripe is there aren't really sites like Model Mayhem in Hong Kong so it might not be the easiest finding models...haha.

Royboy nice shots. Your daughter is very cute. Good luck with that lens. You're going to love it.

Pham. I like the golf course shots. I agree with the comment about the light. I would like to see it softer as well. Thanks for sharing.

as a photographer you did a stellar job.. the model however is a little offputting due to her strange grin/smile thing happening.
great composition and thought/care put into the shots though. good job.
