i owned it less than a year. i had it in a 1ds III and i shot some images about 30. it was a wedding, no less. when i went back to review them, it was corrupt.

I have had Kingston cards for quite a while now and no problems. I have heard of other people saying they heard of failures, but you are the first one in the 'first person' to say so. Electronics do have tend to have higher failure rates when they are new - if you pass a certain time, they will perform. I think that when doing an event, you would want to use lower capacity cards to ensure that not too many photos are on one card if a problem does develop.

I am not sure whether the Sandisk cards are any better - people do seem to prefer them, but I can not personally justify the increased cost. But then again, it's not a living for me.

put in the other 16 gb kingston same thing happened.

put in other brand cf cards, worked like a champ.

Confused here also -- you have a 7K body but choose cheapo giveaway cards? WHAT? And you were at a wedding and shot 30 shots? WHAT?

what's the lesson here :D?

i buy the best cards i can, and for me that's extreme IVs. future cameras will only get more demanding and i see no advantage in buying slow, cheap cards.

Best deal I see currently is for 8GB Sandisk Extreme IV CF cards. For some reason, the amount of rebate is the same for the 8GB and the 16GB so you get $60 back on one 8GB. Beach/BuyDig has the 8GB card for $115- if you get the $60 back, then it's only $55 net. It's even a better deal if you buy the 8GB card from Beach Camera on Ebay (they send you a regular invoice) using the 8% Live.com cashback. Don't think you can beat the price for some of the highest quality cards out there.
