I ordered my lens april 15, and have waited and waited. the esrimated arrival for my lens is now may 29!
Since I get an employer discount, they had the best prices at the time. That price has become even better since the increase canon made right before the 80 dollar rebate kicked in.
Right now, if I cancelled and reordered anywhere else, I would pay more even with the rebate, so I am waiting, wondering if Dell would rather I cancelled so they could sell the lens at a higher rate to someone else.
I Just posted this so I could ask- Has anyone else received a lens from dell lately (24-70)?

AND

Is this going to be the lens that makes me sell my 24-105?
does an honest man stand a chance in this zero-sum power struggle we call modern society?
Do the cleveland Indians stand a chance this year? I mean they stomped NY, but they have given up so many leads this year and sit firmly in last place in a division they should be dominating, I mean come on, can this last?
I want my lens. Not to the point of dreaming about opening the box, but I want my lens.

I also ordered the same lens from Dell on the 28th of April and the estimated arrival is also on the 29th of May. They original had it for the 20th of May but got bump to the 29th. Since then I've been waiting... Best bet is to wait it out I also get a discount and can't find it anywhere cheaper.

would you please let me know if you get a lens? I will do the same for you. I have been bumped three times now, but I agree, the best thing is sit and wait, especially since I can'y beat the price either. Is that an existing lens in your gear list or are you counting your lenses before they ship?

Just wait if nothing urgent is coming up. Dell imposes restocking fees on returns. That means cherry pickers avoid it and you are very likely to get a brand new product without somebody's greasy fingerprints on the lens. I personally stopped buying from B&H because of a very high risk of getting a returned item. I hope ( actually I am sure ) that B&H and others will follow that practice and start charging restocking fees. At the end everybody will benefit with exception of cherrypickers, but they create so much headache to both businesses and customers so they have no compassion from me.

I have ordered several lenses from Dell and only had to wait on one Sigma and that took almost 2 months.

Bumped 3 times.. That's not good. I will let you know if I get it. I had this lens before this, sold it 3 months ago. This will be the 3rd time buying this lens.

Sorry, but the Cleveland Indians are only gonna ever win the WS in a movie. And thats already happened... (twice I think, "Major League" alludes to their winning the WS, and "Major League 2" I don't remember how it ended).

But the Indians will never win the Series in real life. Its impossible. First the Cubs would have to win, then monkeys would have to fly out of their butts... those Monkeys would bless the Indians with WS bling!

I'm just waiting for my Yankees to win #27

Agreed. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Indians to win anything.

I never purchased anything from dell...why do you guys get bumped? Is it b/c the lenses haven't arrived yet so the date is pushed back? or is it something else.

they were one game away from finishing off the red pox and cruising past the rockies two years ago. One game.
We get bumped when they can't fill the order, they don't tell us if its because there arent enough lenses to go around or if its because there arent ANY lenses.

That was a really stupid movie, both actually. I can't bear to watch it, ever again.

i ordered a point and shoot from dell a few years ago, i think it took 3 months, it was still a really great price. dell will keep trying to fulfill the order, but they will also keep sending you emails asking if you want to keep the order open. if you want it then make sure you reply.

i think it's a scheme by dell to not have to sell you the item, but i'm just paranoid. if you need the lens for something then i'd just order from somewhere else, dell is notorious online for over-selling certain items and then having people waiting months for it. if you wait them out you should end up with the item but it can be a long wait.

....anything from dell...why do you guys get bumped?....

Dell is notorius for that. They bumped me twice on a laptop I ordered which they promised before christmas. Finally got it the end of Jan.
Never again.....IMO....Dell sux. I spend my money elsewhere....anywhere that does not engage in deceptive practices. My 2 cents...

When I ordered it at the time the sales person told me they had 1 more left in stock. Well that couldn't be true if birdfromboat ordered his 2 weeks prior.

So now dell is telling me that their next shipment is coming directly from canon to their warehouse on the 21st and in my hands on the 29th, and if I want Faster shipping I would have to pay more.
