This is my first time posting here...I was playing in the backyard and got these shots. Any feedback or comments to improve them?

Are these bad or good...looking for some kind of feedback. New to posting and photography, and obviously need some practice.

Shots like these are tough to evaluate, because so much depends on individual taste. For me, these are a little too soft. I usually prefer more of the flowers in focus and with perhaps a little more contrast. But that's just my preference, if these meet your expectations, that's great.

I do want to welcome you to the forum. You will find less commenting in the Nature & Landscape forum than in Birds, for example. I don't know why, but people here aren't always as free with their opinion.

I reckon the second flower would look stunning backlit by the light from a rising or setting sun... worth an experimental shot anyway :-)

Thanks for the insight and comments. I'm going to work on the sharpness, the dof, and the backlighting idea. Happy shooting everyone!

dont worry too much about pleasing us (others). like sparker said, its a matter of opinion. your composition looks nice. the background blur (bokeh) is the best aspect of the photos, imo.

they look a little dark, as if was a cloudy day?

but, if they meet your expectations, you did great. i think they are pretty. however, when i get one that makes ME go "wow!," i put it on my wall regardless of what others say. as it is, there arent many on my wall because i am my own toughest critic. and, i suppose you will be yours, too.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
