I think that was posted on here about 12 months ago... from memory, they were having a thread trying to decide what glorious way to destroy the remainder of it. Anyone know how that panned out?

Yes, this was posted here previously by someone. Although, never did find out what the end result was? That's a real shame, so much money invested in costly glass followed by an unfortunate accident...

From the linked thread, about another aquatic EF 600mm F/4L IS USM...
"We talked to Canon Professional Services (CPS). According to the person there, out of 10 lenses he has seen that were fully submerged, they were able to recover 0 of them."

me too...the poor guy looked comepltely heart broken but still there was a sense of dark humor I got from it as well...almost made ya wanna start a collection to buy the guy a new lens.
