Had the first nice storm of the season last night. Was able to catch this. Hopefully this year will be better than last....

Cool shot.

Where at in the Blue Ridge?

I live in Roanoke and it seems most of the storms get broken up before they get a chance to come across the mountains.

Next time I have a good heads up on an approaching storm I am going to head up to the star and try and get some pics from up there over looking the city.

Thx all ....... I live in Afton now, Nelson Co. In a little valley, and good storms are few and far between too. I used to live in Bradshaw, in Rke Co. back in the 80'S. Really loved it there....Only problem with lightning is usually trying to keep things dry.....:D That would be some awesome pics from up there by the star, but, don't set up the tripod too high, if ya know what I mean....;)

Cool, nice area, a good friend of mine works for Albemarle County Fire in the Crozet area.

I am pretty new to Va, moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh, so I am adjusting to the weather, lol.

I'll keep my head low on the overlook!

Huh, dam small world. My little girl goes to ballet class right next store to the Crozet VFD...I grew up in Allentown, moved here in '80. My brother lived in Pittsburgh for a few years, Monroeville I think it's called. He liked it there, but now he's in Tennessee.....:D
