Not much bigger than a hummingbird certainly no more than 3 inches long, body maybe an inch to inch and one-half. I was filling my feeder and this guy(s) flew right up and landed not two feet from me. There were actually two of them, same size. Not sure if both of these images are the same bird or different. Neither had any fear of me and I'm not sure if this is a juvie/baby or full grown. I'm guessing some kind of flycatcher (maybe a grey flycatcher) but it was sooo soooo tiny! These shots suck because I had my 100-400 and 1.4x on the camera and I was too close to get a decent shot. :)

That's a brick wall it's on, normal sized bricks that's the mortar seam under it.

I suppose if you told me it was a squirrel I probably deserve it. ;)

Thanks!

Hmmm, thanks Brad, I really am at a loss on this one but the description and images in my Sibley's fits.

I sure wish I'd gotten a better picture though...

From other pictures of this bird posted here, it's a Bush Tit. The eye is pretty distinctive. Great find.

Thank you sir. As I said, I hope they come back so I can get better shots. These might be my new favorite birds just edging out the chickadees. :)

What? You don't?

You are right though, that's definitely the challenge and the draw of bird photography to me.
